Best attractions in Fort Lauderdale by Real Estate Gizmo
Fort Lauderdale’s canals and charm have earned it the nickname “The Venice of America.” The beaches offer 23 miles of golden sand, lively with the spirited antics of happy vacationers. Sail the blue-green waters on a chartered catamaran, or dive beneath the surface to meet- and-greet the local sea life. Shopping and dining al fresco on Las Olas Boulevard is one of Fort Lauderdale’s greatest pleasures, thanks to adorable shops and prime people-watching.
Fort Lauderdale Beach
The “locals” refer to this area as the A1A strip due to the line of restaurants and bars that are across the street from the beach. Popular locations such as famous Elbow Room, LuLu’s Bait Shack, Casablanca’s and Rok bar are just a few. Vacation rental gizmo suggests a fun filled family day on the beach and as the night approaches the area tends to be more geared towards adults and nightlife.
“Well maintained beach”
I am not particularly a massive fan of beaches, but Fort Lauderdale is a really nice, clean well maintained all sand beach. Facilities are limited directly on the beach, but you are only across the road from the main beach front shops / bars etc.

Take a Water Taxi and cruise the Intracoastal Waterways-
Vacation Rental Gizmo suggests a leisure trip on the water taxi which is only 10 mins away from most of our vacation rental homes. Cruise along the Intracoastal stopping at frequent restaurants and bars during the day, disembark when you wish and hop back aboard when you are ready.
"Water taxi was a good way to get around the waters on FLL. There were 22 stops with a transfer point if u wanted to go to the Hollywood Beach area. I would use this service again on my next trip to this area."

Famous Las Olas with shopping and Nightlife
“Good area for high-end shopping and eats.”

"This is an area in Ft. Lauderdale that caters to the well-heeled. Lots of great shops and restaurants. Just be forewarned that it is difficult to find parking. Best parking is about two blocks over, but is worth the effort"
Twinkling lights set the stage each evening for South Florida’s most architecturally unique, authentic, and eclectic shopping and dining district. Stroll the boulevard, duck in and out of our cool breezeways, and be delighted by what you’ll discover - nowhere else in Florida will you find. . . .Over 30 al fresco dining options, 10 major international art galleries, 2 world class museums, 65 unique shops filled with fashion, accessories, gifts, and more.
“A night time promenade, a cocktail or few, a little high end shopping and a great choice of dining. Love it!” Andrew D
The South Florida city Pompano Beach is located 10 miles (16k) from Downtown Ft. Lauderdale and 35 miles (56k) from Downtown Miami. It features 3.5 miles (5.8 km) of white, pristine beachfront on top of multiple parks, golf courses, shopping, dining, and sporting and entertainment options.
The city has been featured in CNN, Money and the Wall Street Journal as one of the top vacation home markets. The city’s redevelopment agency is currently under construction on the redevelopment of east Atlantic Boulevard, and it’s nearby Beaches.
The construction and redevelopment are creating pedestrian gathering spaces, expanding walks for pedestrians and cyclists, building new beach oriented retail outlets, widening sidewalks for outside dining, promoting a classy on-street café atmosphere, creating more entertainment venues and creating an overall festive environment in the area.
